Happy Easter and end of Term 1 to you all!
Team registrations are now complete and our wonderful committee have been working hard to get ready for the upcoming season. We have a number of new families to our club this season and we welcome them and thank them for choosing Western United as their destination for football.
You should have received an email from our club secretary with information about your child's team for the season. Please check your junk mail box if it is not in your inbox. Coaches and/or managers will be in contact with you in the next week or so to introduce themselves and to set practice times etc.
HOW CAN YOU HELP THIS SEASON?
There are lots of ways that you can help our club and your child's team over the season. We always need help setting goals up on Saturday mornings for First Kicks and 7th-8th Grades. 9th-14th Grades need help putting up goal nets and corner flags and packing them away. We are always looking for parents to help with reffing games to free the coaches and managers up to concentrate on the team and over the season your team will be asked to run the BBQ at least once. Please let your team manager know if you can help with these jobs.
There are many ways that you can access information about the club as well as team info. We have a club website www.wuafc.co.nz which is a great source of information as well as our Facebook or Instagram pages. Your coach and manager will let you know the way that they will communicate with you. Some teams use the HEJA app which can be downloaded for free from the App or Google Play stores.
Western United supply a playing shirt and you can purchase club shorts and socks from Direct Group https://directgroup.co.nz/site/. You can also visit their shop at 6 Latham Street in Frankton. We are lucky enough to have brand new shirts this season. Please make sure that these are only worn on Saturdays for games - not to trainings or school so that we can look after them well and ensure they stay looking smart.
We are holding a club working bee on Saturday 30 April (Sunday 1 May if wet) from 9am. We need volunteers for a couple of hours to help put up field goals and mark fields. We'll even shout you a coffee if you RSVP by 9PM Friday 29 April to either firstname.lastname@example.org or on our Facebook Working Bee Event post. We would also like to GPS our fields prior to the Working Bee if possible. If you are able to help with this, please email Rhys HIckman at email@example.com.
We are holding a club afternoon on Sunday 1 May at 3pm. Come on down and meet your team, meet our committee and our awesome sponsors 2E Electrical and Envisage Kitchens.&nb sp;Keep your eyes out for a Facebook update and email reminder closer to the time.
Need your heat pump serviced? Need some electrical work down at your place? Thinking about a new kitchen? Check out what our sponsors can offer you.
We look forward to seeing many of you at club day.
